Perimeter Intrusion Detection and Prevention

Business Benefits:

Maintained confidence from customers, suppliers and partners in the confidentiality of sensitive information
Avoidance of revenue loss from downtime of business-critical applications
Avoidance of lost productivity and/or litigation costs due to compromised corporate data
IT Benefits:

Protection of corporate network resources against unauthorized access, loss, manipulation and denial of service (DoS)
Early warning of corporate network intrusion attempts
Automated detection and blocking of suspicious or unauthorized data flows
Improved audit trails of attack sources and techniques to assist with forensic investigation
Improved adaptability to detect and prevent new types of network-based attacks as they are developed
Best Suited For:

Companies connected to the Internet that store confidential information about their employees, customers, suppliers or business partners
Businesses that rely on the Internet for delivery of critical applications to customers, partners or suppliers
Organizations seeking outside assistance in addressing network security deficiencies revealed in a recent security audit
Technologies Employed:

Router & firewall hardening involves a detailed review of potential network security threats, and a detailed configuration of new or existing network devices to appropriately make use of available security features to mitigate or prevent these threats.
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS's) monitor network traffic in real time and compare traffic flows to known attack flows (or attack signatures). Should traffic match a signature, the IDS sensor will report it to a security policy manager, which will dynamically modify the security policy of perimeter networking equipment to block further activity.
Authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) technology provides networking devices with the ability to accurately verify a user's identity, grant access to specific services (e.g., HTTP, FTP, etc.) or hosts, and log activity for future reference.
Available Services:

Assessment, inventory and documentation of existing network perimeter security infrastructure
Design of firewall, IDS, and/or AAA infrastructures
Competitive hardware and/or software evaluation, selection and procurement
Implementation, testing and documentation of infrastructure
Training and knowledge transfer to in-house staff, including lab simulations
